Minute30.com .- In the middle of an early morning marked by explosions and the overflight of aircraft, the sectoral vice president of Politics, Citizen Security and Peace, Diosdado Cabello, made his first public appearance after reports of the capture of Nicolás Maduro.

Through the screens of Venezolana de Televisión (VTV), in a broadcast identified as “live” at 6:36 am (local time), Cabello was shown from a street in the Venezuelan capital, surrounded by what appear to be security units and supporters.

A message of resistance and calm

With a tone that seeks to stop the panic after the attacks on strategic facilities such as Fuerte Tiuna and La Carlota Airport, Cabello sent a direct message to the militancy and the country:

“We are deployed in every corner of our Caracas and the entire Homeland. We call our people to total calm. Trust us, trust your Armed Forces and your Revolutionary Government to go through this situation. We will win!”, expressed the official leader.

Caracas under the smoke

Despite Cabello’s words, the reports from the Venezuelan capital contradict the feeling of normality. Journalists in the area and citizens through social networks report on:

Columns of smoke: Visible in military and strategic sectors to the east and south of the city.

Road closures: Strict checkpoints on the main avenues leading to the center of power (Miraflores).

Total uncertainty: Cabello’s message did not explicitly mention the whereabouts of Nicolás Maduro, which fuels doubts after the demand for “faith of life” made minutes before by Delcy Rodríguez.

Who is in control?

Diosdado Cabello’s appearance on national television is interpreted by international analysts as an attempt to demonstrate that the structure of the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and the security organizations (SEBIN and PNB) still remain operational, despite the air offensive reported by the US government.
