The Attorney General’s Office began a preliminary investigation to investigate those responsible for Coljuegos and other participants, for the alleged irregularities in the awarding of a contract for the exploitation of the Baloto game of luck and chance.

Apparently, the Board of Directors of Coljuegos would have apparently adopted decisive decisions for the bidding process, which would include the approval of modifications to the gaming regulations, flexibility of process requirements, and a reduction in the economic exploitation fee that the concessionaire had to pay to the State.

The Public Ministry is investigating the technical, legal and financial feasibility of the decisions adopted by the Board of Directors of Coljuegos, specifically with respect to the agreements through which exploitation rates were reduced and the terms of the process were made more flexible, which could compromise the allocation of resources to the health system.

The Second Delegate Prosecutor’s Office for State Contracting ordered the carrying out of tests to identify and individualize the possible responsible parties for the irregular events reported, to establish the circumstances of time, manner and place and determine whether there is a reason to continue with the disciplinary action.
