The night of terror that shook the Santa Fe neighborhood, in the town of Los Mártires, is beginning to be clarified after the first investigations by the Bogotá Metropolitan Police.

General José Daniel Gualdrón stated that the grenade attack, which left one dead and 13 injured, was a premeditated act that did not manage to enter the premises, but rather exploded on the platform.

The fatal victim was identified as an adult over 72 years of age, who worked as a waiter at the establishment and whose life was cut short by the explosive wave while he was working.

The main hypothesis of the authorities points to a bloody dispute over the control of micro-trafficking in this tolerance zone.

According to police intelligence, the Aragua Train seeks to expand its territorial domain and displace local gangs such as “Los Boyacos”, who have historically operated in the sector.

Although the control of micro-trafficking is the most solid line, the Police Gaula does not rule out that the attack is also linked to extortion.

It should be noted that the Aragua Train operates through zonal leaders who report to alias ‘Giovanni San Vicente’, and so far last year alone, more than 15 arrests of this organization have been reported in the Santa Fe neighborhood.

The mayor of Bogotá, Carlos Fernando Galán, regretted the death of the worker and assured that they will not rest until those responsible are captured.

At the scene, criminalistics units collect evidence and security videos to identify the individuals who threw the device.
