The episode occurred in a residential sector of the Ciudad Córdoba neighborhood, in Cali, where an argument over allegedly collecting a debt led to an armed attack that left one person dead and two more seriously injured.

According to the preliminary information provided by the authorities, the confrontation originated when several men met on a public street to demand payment of a sum of money.

In the middle of the altercation, the situation got out of control and one of those involved pulled out a firearm, unleashing a flurry of shots that generated panic among the residents of the sector.

During the shooting, the man who would have been the target of the charge was hit repeatedly and died at the scene due to the severity of his injuries. However, the incident was not limited to the participants in the conflict: a woman and a man who were passing through the area were hit by stray bullets and suffered serious injuries, so they had to be rushed to healthcare centers.

The authorities confirmed that the injured people would have no relation to the initial dispute and were passing by the place at the time of the attack. Neighbors in the sector alerted the Police after hearing several explosions, which allowed the rapid arrival of patrols and emergency units.

Currently, the Cali Metropolitan Police is carrying out the corresponding investigations to clarify what happened. Investigators review security cameras in the sector and collect witness testimonies in order to identify and locate those responsible for the armed attack.
