The Aspar Team has said goodbye to the 2025 Moto2 season at the Valencian Community Grand Prix with mixed feelings, especially for David Alonso.

For David Alonso, the last race of the season did not end as he expected. Starting from the back of the grid, the Colombian driver was involved in an incident in the second corner that almost caused him to crash.

Although he was able to save the situation, the impact was not without consequences for the rider who, little by little, has been gaining pace in Moto2.

«The race has been quite complicated. In the second corner several riders fell and luckily I was able to save the fall, but I was a little behind,” explained Alonso, who finished in eighteenth position.

The CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team confirmed that the incident bent the brake disc of their motorcycle, which affected the rest of the test.

«The team told me at the end that the brake disc was bent on impact. It was not comfortable to drive like that, it has been a very long race for me,” added Alonso.

David Alonso concludes a season of learning in Moto2

Despite this closure, Alonso has completed his first season in Moto2, a year of great learning that will serve as a basis for future challenges.

“The year hasn’t ended the way we wanted, but now it’s time to think about next season and continue working to improve even more,” he concluded.

While his teammate, the Spanish Dani Holgado, shone by achieving his fifth podium of the year.

Dani Holgado put the cherry on top of his successful debut season in the intermediate category with a great second place at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit.

After starting from pole position (his fifth of the season), the Spanish driver remained in the fight for victory until the end, engaging in an intense duel with Izan Guevara, who finally crossed the finish line with a lead of seven tenths.

Holgado’s result has been fundamental for the CFMOTO Inde Aspar Team to finish the year as the third best team in Moto2.
