Four people were captured and prosecuted in different regions of the country for their alleged participation in serious acts of sexual exploitation against children and adolescents, as well as for the production and marketing of audiovisual material with sexual content, which was sent to contacts abroad.

The operation was led by the Attorney General’s Office in coordination with the National Police and the United States Homeland Security Investigations Office (HSI), as part of a strategy to combat child abuse networks with international reach.

In Bogotá, authorities captured two women. One of them is accused of transmitting, through digital platforms, the sexual abuse committed against her own daughters, ages 4 and 9, in exchange for payments made by a contact located in the United States. According to the investigation, the financial transactions ranged between $600 and $2,000.

The second captured in the capital would be a babysitter, accused of sexually abusing two minors aged 2 and 8 who were under her care, recording the events and later sharing the videos.

In Medellín, an older adult who allegedly sexually exploited her 15-year-old granddaughter was identified and captured. According to the judicial process, he forced her to have intimate relationships with adults, recorded the encounters and received money in exchange for the material.

The fourth case was registered in Ibagué, Tolima, where a man was captured who allegedly obtained, stored and distributed explicit sexual material of minors through instant messaging systems, between March and June 2025.

During the capture procedures, the authorities seized electronic equipment that contained videos and photographs that evidence the abuses committed against several minors.

The detainees were presented before guarantee control judges by prosecutors from the Special Unit for the Investigation of Crimes against Children and Adolescents (UENNA), who charged them with crimes such as abusive carnal access with a minor under 14 years of age, pornography with a minor, pimping and demand for child sexual exploitation. All must comply with a security measure in a prison while the judicial process progresses.
