The Comptroller General of the Republic officially requested Ecopetrol SA that delivers, within a maximum period of five business daystechnical and documentary information related to various investments and contracts involving public resources.

According to the control entity, the request seeks to clarify key aspects on three fronts: the gas importacquisitions in the renewable energiesspecifically the purchase of the company Statkraftand the project Windpeshilinked to energy wind. In addition, the Comptroller’s Office is investigating possible reputational risks that these decisions may represent for the company and for the State.

This tax action aims to ensure transparency in the use of public assets and verify that Ecopetrol’s strategic decisions are aligned with the principles of efficiency, responsibility and sustainability.

According to the official statement, the Comptroller’s Office also seeks to review whether the processes were carried out under the current legal framework and with the proper financial and technical supports that justify the investments.

Until now, Ecopetrol has not issued a public response to the request, although it is expected that in the coming days a decision will be made regarding the delivery of the requested documentation.

This call occurs in a context in which the management of state resources, especially in strategic sectors such as energy, is under scrutiny by control bodies and public opinion.
