Next Thursday, January 22, 2026, the country’s capital will dress up to celebrate the best of national physical activity at the Altius 2025 Awards.
The event will take place in Bogotá, marking the thirteenth edition of a ceremony that, after 14 years of history, has established itself as the favorite space to exalt the effort and achievements of Colombia’s sports ambassadors.
The dispute for the Athlete of the Year award in the Olympic category has 19 high-level figures nominated by their respective federations.
Among the names that stand out to get on the podium are the experienced Miguel Ángel Rodríguez (squash), the diver Luis Felipe Uribe, the athlete Natalia Linares and the weightlifter Yeison López.
For its part, in the sector of sports not included in the Olympic program, 14 athletes compete for recognition, with figures of the stature of the skater Gabriela Rueda and the archer Alejandra Usquiano.
The generational change will also have a special role under the category of Promise of the Year.
At the Olympic level, a large group of 21 young talents, including the cyclist Queen Villegas and the golfer Tomás Restrepo, are looking for their first Altius.

At the same time, in the non-Olympic category, ten athletes have been nominated, highlighting names such as Daniela Verswyvel in water skiing and Nicolle Mogollón in chess, who represent the future of national sporting success.
Beyond purely competitive performance, the Altius Awards integrate various categories that highlight the integral values of sport. During the evening, distinctions will be awarded in areas such as Life and Work, Fair Play (with four nominees) and the Special Prize.
Likewise, social and organizational commitment will be recognized through the categories of Contribution to the Environment, which registers seven applications, and the Sports Contest of the Year, where nine high-impact events compete.
This edition takes on a special meaning as it marks almost fifteen years since its creation, reaffirming its resilience after the interruption suffered in 2020 due to the pandemic.
The ceremony not only seeks to award medals, but also to celebrate the identity and national pride that Colombian athletes generate on every stage in the world, bringing together the sports family in a night of recognition and excellence.
