Colombian billiards closed its participation in the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho and Lima 2025 with an exceptional balance, achieving a total of eight medals, of which five were gold.
The national delegation demonstrated its supremacy in several modalities, with outstanding performances by athletes such as Johana Sandoval, Huberney Cataño, Laura González and Andrea Cardona.
They were all key to securing the titles for the country. The competitions took place at the National Stadium in Lima.
On the closing day, on Tuesday, December 2, Andrea Cardona put the finishing touch to the Colombian performance, by achieving the Bolivarian runner-up position in the individual modality of heyball.
Cardona had secured her way to the final after an exciting semifinal match the previous night, where she beat the local player, Peruvian Katherine Corzo, 5-3, demonstrating mettle and skill at the table.

In the gold medal final, Cardona faced Venezuelan Albany González. Despite having proposed a solid strategy and exhibiting good technique during the match, the Colombian was finally surpassed by her opponent with a score of 1-5.
The podium in the individual women’s heyball modality was completed by Katherine Corzo, who beat the Guatemalan Daniela Catalán 5-4 in the duel for the bronze medal.
In this way, the Colombian billiards delegation said goodbye to the competition with great success, adding five gold, two silver and one bronze medals to its final medal tally.
This result consolidates the great moment of national billiards at the Bolivarian level and highlights the commitment and talent of its representatives, who leave the name of the country high in the continental sports field.
