The Colombia U-17 National Team is preparing for a crucial confrontation this Monday, November 10, where it will seek to seal its classification to the next round of the U-17 Men’s World Soccer Championship.
After getting draws against powers such as Germany and a brave El Salvador, the national team faces North Korea at the close of the group stage with the mission of securing one of the places in the round of 32 of the competition.
The outlook in Group G is challenging, with North Korea leading the table thanks to their resounding 5-0 victory over El Salvador and a one-goal draw against Germany.
Colombia, for its part, is third with two points as a result of its two equalities, but has a lower number of goals scored compared to the Germans, which forces a positive result.
In a tournament that qualifies the first two in each group and the eight best third parties among 48 teams, the national team has two paths to advance.

The decisive match will be played starting at 8:30 in the morning (Colombian time) and a victory against the Asian leader would guarantee the team its position among the first two in the group.
However, in the event of a draw or defeat, the Colombian squad will have to wait for the result of the match between Germany and El Salvador to know if its two points are enough to be one of the best third parties and continue in the competition.
Colombia’s most recent match, a 0-0 against El Salvador, left a bittersweet taste. Despite showing superiority on the field, the team was unable to achieve goal opportunities, encountering resistance from rival goalkeeper Oliver Sigernes or failing to finish.
This lack of effectiveness will have to be corrected against North Korea, in a match where there is no margin for error and qualification to the next phase is at stake.
