The Colombian Basketball Federation has announced the list of 29 preselected players for the next matches of the FIBA Qatar 2027 World Cup Qualifiers.
Coach Tomás Díaz presented a roster that combines experience with youth to face Venezuela in two matches scheduled for November 27 and 30 of this year.
The Cartagena technical director emphasized that this selection is the result of continuous monitoring of players both locally and abroad, seeking generational change in Colombian basketball.
In addition, several of the shortlisted participated in the China Tour that took place in June of this year.
Among the 29 shortlisted players are names like Braian Angola (Villanueva, Casanare), Jaime Echenique, Hansel Atencia (Barrancabermeja, Santander), and Luis Almanza (Caracas).
The list also includes young talents from various cities such as Medellín (with 4 players, including Jaret Teherán Valencia, Juan Madrigal, Juan Tello and Octavio Muñoz).

From Bogotá (Álvaro Peña, Darwin Blanco), from Cali (Alejandro Minota, Kevin Quiñónez), and the San Andrés Islands (Jim James, Kadir Pomare, Michael Jackson).
After this initial call, Professor Díaz will soon define the 12 players who will represent the country, depending on their availability and physical condition.
Cali will be the venue for the first match of the Colombian Basketball Team, which will be played on Thursday, November 27.
