In a reinforced control operation that demonstrates the effectiveness of international cooperation, Colombian Immigration authorities prevented the entry into the country of two US citizens allegedly linked to sexual exploitation and tourism networks.

The incident occurred on January 31, after all the alarms were activated at the El Dorado International Airport, after receiving reports about suspicious behavior of these individuals during a flight from Panama.

The initial alert was issued by the Turkish Airlines crew, who observed unusual behavior among travelers, including the unauthorized recording of a minor during the journey.

Upon landing in the capital, Colombian Immigration officers, in coordination with the United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP), intercepted the foreigners.

During the inspection of her carry-on luggage, agents found several sealed packages of women’s lingerie; Under the pressure of the official interview, the men ended up confessing that the items would be used for exploitative activities.

Gloria Esperanza Arriero López, general director of Migration Colombia, was emphatic in pointing out that the institution maintains a policy of “zero tolerance” against any threat that threatens the integrity of children, adolescents and women.

For this reason, the administrative measure of inadmissibility was immediately applied, forcing the subjects to return to their country of origin.

This case adds to the statistics for 2025, a year in which more than 100 non-admissions of foreigners were recorded, most of them Americans, for crimes related to human trafficking and sexual abuse.

The authorities reiterated that rigorous controls will continue to safeguard the rights of the most vulnerable populations and punish any attempt to violate sovereignty and public morality.
