The Colombian Men’s Under-16 National Team began its participation in the UC Santiago Cup in Chile 2025 with a 1-1 draw against its counterpart from Peru.

In this first match of the international friendly tournament, played this Tuesday, December 16, the team led by the national coaching staff sought to impose conditions from the opening whistle in Chilean territory, showing glimpses of the youthful talent that makes up the squad.

Although the Peruvian team managed to strike first and take the lead on the scoreboard, the Colombian reaction was immediate.

Thanks to a score by Éder Torres in the 35th minute, the “coffee” team managed to restore parity before going to halftime.

The team initially formed with Luigi Ortiz in goal, supported by a structure led by players such as Anderson Murillo, Juan Fori and the scorer of the goal himself, Torres.

During the complementary period, the pace of the match decreased and clear scoring options were scarce for both sides.

The defenses prevailed over the attacks and the game focused on the midfield dispute, which led to a balanced end to the match.
