This Thursday, December 18, the groups for the CONMEBOL Sudamericano Femenino U-20 were defined, which will take place in Paraguay from February 4 to 28, 2026.

The Colombian National Team was installed in Group A, where it must measure forces against the host Paraguay, in addition to Venezuela, Chile and Uruguay.

For its part, Group B will be made up of the delegations of Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador and Bolivia.

The tournament will be developed under a competition format divided into two stages: a Preliminary Group Phase and a Final Phase.

In the first instance, the ten South American teams will face each other in a single round of matches.

Colombia already knows its path in the South American Women’s U-20 2026

Only the teams that manage to place themselves in the first three positions in each zone will obtain a direct place to compete in the final hexagonal, where the places for the next World Cup event in the category will be decided.

In the Final Phase, the six best teams on the continent will face each other again under the round-robin system in a single round.

This competition represents a fundamental challenge for Colombian women’s football, which seeks to maintain its regional prominence and ensure its classification in Paraguayan territory.

With the groups already established, the national team will begin its final preparation to face the debut in February.
