The two occupants of the vehicle died at the scene due to the explosion, while two police officers who were approaching the car were slightly injured and were taken to a healthcare center.

Key Findings and Statement

After the deployment of anti-explosive technicians to rule out the presence of another device, the preliminary inspection of the vehicle yielded important findings, since two rifles, supplies and ammunition were found in the trunk of the car.

Before dying, one of the occupants of the vehicle managed to tell the uniformed officers that he was carrying the grenade, weapons and ammunition destined for the city of Bogotá to be delivered there.

The Police indicated that, so far, no other element has been found that directly links this weapon to any specific criminal group. However, the investigation continues to determine the origin of the weapons and the final destination of the cargo in Bogotá.
