The Attorney General’s Office presented Mayerlin Velásquez before a guarantee control judge, accused of having violently entered a home in Cali, Valle del Cauca, to allegedly steal belongings whose value exceeds 19 million pesos.

The events would have occurred on June 26, 2024 in a residence in the San Judas II neighborhood. According to the investigation, Velásquez, in the company of other people, would have forced the windows of the house to access the interior and appropriate valuable objects.

The capture of the woman was carried out on February 4 by personnel of the National Police, in coordination with the Cali Section of the Prosecutor’s Office. After the arrest, the judicial authority charged him with the crime of qualified and aggravated robbery and issued the corresponding indictment.

Subsequently, a guarantee control judge decided to deprive Mayerlin Velásquez of her liberty, who was transferred to a prison center while the judicial process against her continues.
