A street in the Castilla neighborhood, in Medellín, became a slide or soapy track that quickly attracted the attention of locals and strangers. The situation was recorded in several videos that began to circulate on social networks, showing how the community adapted the road to share a different moment of fun.

The slide in Castilla was improvised using soap and water, taking advantage of the natural slope of the street.

In the images you can see children, young people and adults sliding from the highest part of the section, some alone and others in groups, while several people remained on the sides recording and animating the scene.

The activity took place in an atmosphere of laughter, music and spontaneous comments, turning the street into a community meeting point.

Many users highlighted the ingenuity and creativity of the inhabitants of the sector to transform the public space into a recreational setting. Comments such as “This is Colombia, the people are happy”, “what a cool patch”, “the paisas are definitely always innovating” and “that is pure ingenuity” were some of the most repeated.

However, not all reactions were positive. Some Internet users expressed concern about the risks associated with this type of activities, such as possible falls, injuries or effects on the mobility of the sector. So far, no injuries or material damage have been reported, nor has there been an official statement from the authorities.

This type of situation is not new in Medellín and is often repeated during festive seasons, when communities look for creative alternatives to share in the midst of everyday life.
