The capital of Valle del Cauca is getting ready to host a key event on the country’s sports and environmental agenda: the Environmental Sustainability in Sports Forum.

This meeting will take place next Tuesday, November 25 in the José Fernando Arroyo Valencia auditorium of the National Sports School University Institution.

The forum is an initiative of the Colombian Olympic Committee, with the support of the National Sports School.

The main objective of the conference is to promote the exchange of experiences, strategies and innovations that promote sustainability in the sports field, contributing directly to climate action and community well-being.

Under the premise that “sport and sustainability must move together towards a fairer, healthier future in harmony with nature.”

There the day will address crucial topics such as education and environmental culture in sports, as well as cases of sustainable sports implemented by the National Sports Federations.

The day will be inaugurated by Irma Lucía Ruíz, second vice president and coordinator of the Sustainability Commission of the Colombian Olympic Committee. After opening, the space will host key interventions from several National Sports Federations.

The participation of the Colombian Federations of Surfing, Triathlon, Tennis and Underwater Activities has been confirmed, who will share their experiences and advances in sustainability.

The Environmental Sustainability in Sports Forum will take place during extended hours, from 8:00 in the morning to 5:00 in the afternoon.

Attendance at the event is free, facilitating the participation of students, professionals, athletes and the public interested in the sustainable future of sport.
