The capital of Valle del Cauca launched the Christmas Plan 2025, a strategy with which the authorities seek to guarantee security, coexistence and risk prevention throughout the holiday season.
The launch, held this December 5 in Santiago de Cali, was attended by local authorities and Metropolitan Police commanders, who announced the deployment of more than 1,200 uniformed personnel in critical points of the city.
Of this personnel, 800 police officers were sent by the General Directorate and 400 more come from the Simón Bolívar School. Its mission will be to reinforce surveillance in commercial areas, residential neighborhoods and mobility corridors towards Palmira, Buenaventura and northern Cauca, where the flow of travelers increases at this time.

The Christmas Plan integrates eight strategic components focused on crime prevention, gunpowder control, road safety, safe environments in public spaces and the protection of women, children and families. One of the featured units will be the purple patrol, designed to immediately respond to cases related to gender violence, personal injuries or sexual assaults.

The strategy also includes controls on bars, nightclubs and gastrobars to prevent the sale of adulterated liquor. Additionally, the Government of the Valley will support with the “Raptor” aerial platform, a fleet of drones intended for permanent monitoring and rapid response to emergencies or disturbances of public order.
The Secretary of Government of the Valley, Guillermo Londoño, recalled that parents are legally responsible for their children’s use of gunpowder, and warned that several burns have already been recorded just at dawn on December 1.
The call from the authorities is to celebrate responsibly, protect the physical and mental health of the community and guarantee that cultural and commercial events take place normally.
