Minute30.com .- A binational blow to drug trafficking took place with the capture of Peruvian Brucelee Bermudo Guerra in the Chiriaco town center, Amazonas. The arrest was the result of a coordinated operation between the Anti-Drug Directorate (Dirandro) of Peru and the DEA of the United States, targeting a powerful transnational criminal organization.

The detainee is identified as a key member of a drug trafficking network that attempted to export more than 2.5 tons of cocaine hydrochloride.

This organization, made up of Mexicans, Venezuelans and Guatemalans, was in charge of the production, collection and transportation of large consignments of cocaine in both Peru and Colombia, and then exported them by sea to the United States and Europe, making previous stops in Central America and Mexico.

Bermudo’s criminal history intersects with political aspirations. It has been revealed that in 2022, the captured man ran for the district mayor of Sivia, province of Huanta, Ayacucho, for the Wari Llaqta Regional Movement.
