The Colombian billiards delegation has left a golden mark at the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho–Lima 2025.

The female duo, composed of Andrea Cardona and Laura González, starred in a spectacular comeback that culminated with the gold medal in the Women’s Team 9-Ball modality.

The day for Cardona and González did not start easy, after losing in their first match against Venezuela 6-3.

However, the team showed its resilience by beating Bolivia with authority (6–4), which assured them a place in the semifinals.

In the round of four, Colombia maintained the momentum, dispatching Peru with a solid 6–3 to qualify for the grand final.

The moment of truth came in the reunion with his first executioner: Venezuela.

With an impeccable and dominant performance, Cardona and González won 6-2, reversing the initial result and winning the gold medal for the country.

The final podium of the Women’s 9 Ball Teams category was formed like this, gold for Colombia, silver for Venezuela and bronze for Peru.

Colombian billiards also had an outstanding participation in the Mixed Team 9-Ball modality.

The duo made up of Andrea Cardona and Jorge Arcos started with a solid 6-3 victory over Venezuela, advancing to the semifinals.

In an extremely close and highly competitive duel against Bolivia, the national team lost by a tight 6–5. This result relegates them to the dispute for bronze, where they will have the opportunity to close their participation with another medal against the Venezuelan delegation.

The overall balance for Colombian billiards is highly positive, with a gold in the women’s branch and the possibility of adding another medal in the mixed modality, which confirms the notable technical progress of national billiards on the international sports scene.
