Colombian futsal ended its participation in the XX Bolivarian Games Ayacucho – Lima 2025 with the achievement of the bronze medal, after beating its counterpart from Venezuela in an exciting match for third place.

The match, played this Wednesday, December 3 at the Sports Center – Cancha Cahuide, was decided in a dramatic penalty shootout, where Colombia won 4 – 2 after a 3 – 3 in regulation time and overtime.

The national team had a demanding journey in the tournament, beginning its journey in Group B. The debut was a three-goal draw against Guatemala on Saturday, November 29, and its second challenge ended with another tie, this time scoreless, against Panama.

These results allowed Colombia to secure second place in the group and a place in the semifinals of the competition.

In the semifinal round, the national representatives faced Paraguay in an intense dispute that also ended in a draw.

However, on this occasion, luck was not on the Colombian side in the definition from the penalty spot, losing 1 – 3.

This result determined that the team would compete for the bronze medal against Venezuela, seeking to close its participation in the games with a medal.

The match for third place, played starting at 9:00 am this Wednesday, was a vibrant duel from start to finish, concluding 3 – 3.

With the tie persisting, penalties were the final judge of the day. There, the Colombian team demonstrated greater mettle and effectiveness, beating Venezuela with a 4-2 score that awarded them the well-deserved bronze medal and a flourish in the futsal of the 2025 Bolivarian Games.
