The Disciplinary Committee of the Championship has issued a favorable ruling for Millonarios and its top figure, Radamel Falcao García, by granting the partial suspension of the sanction that weighed on the player.
With this decision, the “Tigre” is enabled to be part of the roster that will face Deportivo Pasto this Wednesday, January 28.
The original sanction, imposed through the Resolution, punished the forward with four suspension dates and a fine of $21,352,500.
The reason was his statements in the press conference after the classic against Independiente Santa Fe in the finals of the previous tournament, which were considered a violation of article 72 of the Single Disciplinary Code.
Contrary to what could be speculated on social networks, the decision is not based on the “name” of the player, but on strict compliance with the legal requirements of article 42 of the CDU.
The Committee argued the following key points. On the one hand, 50% compliance. ‘Falca’ has already paid two of the four sanction dates, in the 2026 matches against Bucaramanga and Junior.
Additionally, due to the “impeccable record”, the exemplary career of the player, who had no previous disciplinary record, was taken into account.
Likewise, after acceptance of responsibility. The club and the player presented a sincere apology, acknowledging the negative impact of their statements on the image of the FCF and the match officials.

Because it’s Falcao? The sanction for ‘Tigre’ is reduced and he will be able to play with Millonarios
Although Falcao will be able to take the field, the sanction does not disappear completely. The player will enter a six-month conditional status period. During this time:
Millionaires must send reports on compliance with behavioral commitments.
If the “Tigre” commits a similar offense in this period, the two suspended dates will be automatically reactivated, adding to the new sanction.
The economic sanction of more than 21 million pesos must be canceled in its entirety.
The “Ambassador” club appealed to the pro-competitione principle to speed up the process, allowing the coaching staff to include the captain in sports planning immediately.
With this legal move, Millonarios recovers its reference for the third date of the BetPlay 2026-I League, seeking to strengthen its attack after a start to the season where the “9” was absent due to disciplinary punishment.
