In the last few hours, the National Institute for Food and Drug Surveillance (Invima) issued an urgent alert aimed at Colombian consumers after detecting the marketing of a fraudulent product that passes itself off as legitimate powdered milk.

The entity confirmed that these are counterfeit units that use the name and image of the reference “Whole Powdered Milk Fortified with Vitamins A and D3 brand Induleche.”

Why is it a risk to your health?

Invima determined, after carrying out the respective inspections, that this product does not correspond to the original manufacture of the company that owns the brand. This implies that:

Unknown origin: It is unknown under what hygienic conditions it was packaged.

Uncertain ingredients: There is no guarantee that the powder contained is actually milk or whether it contains foreign substances that could cause poisoning.

Impersonation: The product is using the health registration and image of a legal company to deceive the consumer.

How to identify the fake product?

Although counterfeiters try to copy the appearance, Invima noted that there are obvious differences in the packaging design (art and labeling) compared to the original authorized product.

Important Note: If you recently purchased this product and notice strange colors on the bag, blurred prints, or an unusual taste when preparing it, discontinue use immediately.

Recommendations for consumers

Invima calls on citizens to take the following precautions:

Refrain from buying “Induleche brand Fortified Whole Milk Powder with Vitamins A and D3” if you suspect its origin or if the price is unusually low compared to the market.

If you already have it at home: Do not consume it.

Report: If you identify places where this counterfeit product is being sold, notify local health authorities (Ministries of Health) or directly to Invima through its digital channels.
