Avianca reported that it is advancing at a favorable pace in updating the software of its A320 fleet, after the modifications required by Airbus. As confirmed by the airline, 51% of these aircraft already have the system completely updated thanks to the uninterrupted work of the technical teams, who hope to complete the process in the coming days to completely normalize the operation.

While this is happening, the company has concentrated its efforts on serving passengers affected by the operational adjustments. For those who had flights scheduled for this November 29, reaccommodation alternatives were offered both on Avianca and on allied airlines.

In cases where these alternatives did not meet the needs of travelers, the option to reschedule flights was enabled without charging penalties or fare differences, with dates available up to 180 days after the original itinerary, managed directly through the Contact Center.

In addition, those who prefer a refund can request it according to the channel through which they purchased the tickets: on the official website for direct purchases or with the corresponding agency when dealing with third parties.

The airline reiterated the importance of passengers frequently reviewing the communications sent to the email associated with each reservation and permanently checking the status of their flights on the website, in order to avoid unnecessary trips to the airports when the reservation is not yet confirmed.

In the midst of this process, Avianca is keeping sales closed for trips scheduled until December 8. The measure seeks to avoid a greater impact on the operation and guarantee the adequate rearrangement of those who already have tickets issued. The company assured that its entire team continues working to restore complete normality of service as soon as possible.
