The authorities in the department of Cauca have confirmed the kidnapping of Miguel Ayala, son of the renowned popular music singer Giovanny Ayala, along with his manager. The incident occurred on Wednesday night on the Pan-American highway, in the corridor that connects Popayán with Cali.

According to preliminary reports, both were intercepted by armed individuals when they were moving along the road. After the kidnapping, a large public force operation has been deployed in the region to find the whereabouts of the victims and their captors.

The singer Giovanny Ayala, known for hits like “On your knees I ask you,” was notified of the kidnapping of his son and his representative at night.
