A tense panorama was experienced on the morning of this Thursday, December 4, on the road that connects the municipality of Florida, in Valle del Cauca, with Miranda, in the department of Cauca. The authorities were forced to completely suspend traffic and carry out a controlled detonation of a cylinder abandoned on the road.

The object was found near the El Llanito sector, near the entrance to El Lebanon, at a critical point in the corridor that connects the north of Cauca.

According to the first reports from the authorities, the cylinder was abandoned in the middle of the road. The situation worsened because, along with the suspicious object, a dump truck was also crossed on the road, which generated a complete blockage of vehicular passage.

The combination of the cylinder and the vehicle obstructing the road generated panic among drivers and residents of the sector due to the risk that the cylinder contained an explosive charge.

After the report, the Public Force went to the place to verify the contents of the device and determine if it represented any danger. Traffic remained suspended in the area while the situation was evaluated and, finally, the controlled detonation of the abandoned cylinder was carried out.
