The Superintendence of Companies has initiated an administrative action with the objective of subjecting Deportivo Pereira FCSA to the highest level of supervision, called “control.”
This decision was made after the entity noticed a critical economic, accounting and legal situation within the company. This control is a fundamental preventive measure for the supervisory body.
“Control” is the highest level of corporate supervision exercised by the Superintendency.
Its main purpose is to preserve the company as a productive unit and as a source of employment.
The action is part of the Superintendency’s mission to contribute to the growth and maintenance of companies in the country.
It is important to clarify that this level of supervision does not constitute a takeover nor does it empower the Superintendency of Companies to directly co-manage the company.
Deportivo Pereira FCSA maintains its autonomy, although with the limitations established by law for the purposes of supervision, fully guaranteeing the rights of society.

Likewise, the “control” measure does not imply a restriction on the property rights of the holders of the company’s shares.
The action falls exclusively on the company, in accordance with the provisions of article 85 of Law 222 of 1995.
This ensures that the intervention focuses on management and corporate situation, without affecting share ownership.
The Superintendent of Companies, Billy Escobar Pérez, highlighted the importance of this action, pointing out: “our mission is to contribute to the growth and preservation of companies.”
The idea is to act in the face of possible risks that affect the general interest. “Our duty is to act in a timely manner, aware of the importance that societies have for the national economy and, in particular, the Deportivo Pereira FCSA society,” they said.
