In the afternoon of this Tuesday, February 3, an accident occurred in front of the Vizcaya Shopping Center. The incident involved a van-type vehicle that ended up overturned sideways on the road, completely blocking the vehicular flow in this neuralgic sector of El Poblado.

The accident took place around 4:30 pm, and caused a large traffic congestion, which extended for several blocks around, affecting hundreds of drivers returning home.

Given the severity of the accident in Medellín, units of the Official Fire Department and agents of the Ministry of Mobility immediately traveled to the point of emergency.

The lifeguards carried out verification tasks to control possible fuel spills and secure the area, while the traffic personnel worked on traffic regulation.

So far, the authorities have not provided an official report on the health status of the van driver nor have they confirmed if there were other vehicles involved in the incident.

Because the heavy vehicle remained obstructing the road for the last hour, the Ministry of Mobility reiterated the call to citizens to take alternative routes and avoid traveling in the vicinity of Vizcaya.
