Colombia has once again stood out on the continental sports scene, securing four nominations in the prestigious Panam Sports Awards 2025, which for the first time will focus on recognizing the best junior stars in the Americas.
Athletes such as Stefany Cuadrado (track cycling), Natalia Linares (athletics) and Isabella Bedoya (swimming), along with the team sprint team, have been included in the nominations thanks to their notable performances, especially during the last Asunción 2025 Junior Pan American Games.
The public and the Olympic committees will have the opportunity to vote for their favorites from this Tuesday, December 2 to December 21 through the official Panam Sports website.
The cyclist Stefany Cuadrado is the main national figure in these nominations. The multiple champion in Asunción 2025 competes in the category of Best Junior Female Athlete due to her impressive performance, which also includes a bronze medal in Keirin during the Santiago 2025 Track Cycling World Championships.
In addition, Cuadrado is part of the speed team (along with Marianis Salazar and Nathalia Martínez) that was nominated for Best Women’s Team after its victory in the event during the games in Paraguay, demonstrating the power of Colombian track cycling at the youth level.

Athletics is also present with the nomination of Natalia Linares in the Sports Achievement Award category.
The long jumper, who was champion in Asunción 2025, has had an exceptional season that includes the tenth national medal in a world athletics championship and a Bolivarian title, achieving multiple records throughout the year.
On the other hand, the swimmer Isabella Bedoya is nominated in the Fair Play category for her memorable gesture of sisterhood by sharing the gold in the women’s 50 meters freestyle with the Brazilian Stephanie Balduccini in Asunción 2025.
These nominations are a testament to the growth and bright future of Colombian sport, consolidating the legacy of the Junior Pan American Games.
“The continent will choose its favorite athletes in an online vote through our website www.panamsports.org and the winners will be awarded at the next General Assembly of our organization,” explained Neven Ilic, President of Panam Sports.
The result of the voting will not only reward the effort and sporting excellence of these young athletes, but will also raise Colombia’s profile among the continental sports elite.
