The financial and administrative panorama of Deportivo Cali adds a new complication after learning of the official decision of the FIFA Dispute Resolution Chamber.

The governing body of world football ruled in favor of the Argentine player Lautaro Ezequiel Villegas, who filed a lawsuit against the sugar team for failure to make payments derived from his termination agreement, signed in mid-2024.

The document, signed by Emilio García Silvero, legal director of FIFA, confirms that the Court has full jurisdiction over the case and has fully accepted the footballer’s claims.

According to the resolution, Deportivo Cali is obliged to pay three specific installments of 26,432,548 each, which represents a total debt of 79,297,644 for remuneration owed.

In addition to the principal capital, FIFA has imposed a financial penalty that forces the Colombian club to pay an annual interest of 5% on each of the installments.

These interests began to be generated progressively from October 1, November 1 and December 1, 2024, and will continue to accumulate until payment is made in full.

The FIFA ruling includes a severe warning for the leadership of the green and white team regarding the execution deadlines.

The club has a period of 30 days to make the full payment to the bank account indicated by the plaintiff.

In the event that Deportivo Cali does not comply with this financial obligation within the stipulated time, the matter will be automatically referred to the FIFA Disciplinary Committee at the request of the player.

This instance could lead to more serious sporting sanctions for the institution, such as the prohibition of registering new players in the next transfer markets.
