A tragedy occurred on the afternoon of this Wednesday, February 4, in the town of Teusaquillo, after a shocking road accident occurred that claimed the life of one person.

The events occurred at the intersection of Avenida Mutis (Calle 63) and Carrera 17, in an east-west direction.

According to preliminary reports from the traffic authorities, a motorcyclist died instantly at the scene of the impact, while two minors who were involved in the event suffered serious injuries and had to be rushed to nearby healthcare centers.

Due to the seriousness of this road accident, a specialized criminalistics group traveled to the point to carry out the technical inspection of the body and collect evidence to establish the causes of the crash.

The Ministry of Mobility ordered total closures on Av. Mutis with Carrera 16, Carrera 17 with Mutis (south – north direction) and Av. Mutis with Carrera 19, which has generated a strong vehicular backup that affects those who travel to the west of the city.

At this time, Civil Agents and the Transit Guide Group remain in the area managing detours to try to keep traffic flowing, while drivers are recommended to take alternate routes such as Calle 53 or Calle 72.

It is expected that in the next few hours the identity of the victim and the state of health of the injured minors will be confirmed.
