A tragedy that had already been announced by the community materialized this Tuesday, January 3, in the town of Kennedy, south of Bogotá.
The intense rains that hit the capital caused the collapse of a home in the Roma sector, leaving five families in the street and forcing the preventive evacuation of 16 people.
The emergency, which fortunately left no fatalities, revealed serious structural failures.
The incident began to occur in the early morning hours, when the inhabitants of the house heard shocking noises.

According to the testimony, the origin of the problem would be a broken water pipe under the structure that was never repaired by the Aqueduct Company, which generated a huge sinkhole.

The situation worsened when the collapse also broke a gas pipe, forcing emergency intervention by the Bogotá Fire Department before the construction completely collapsed.
According to those affected, the risk of collapse had been formally reported more than a year ago, warning that the road and the surrounding houses presented cracks and progressive subsidence.
At the moment, the IDIGER authorities are carrying out the technical inspection of the neighboring properties, since the underground hole threatens to drag down other structures in the sector.
