This Monday, February 2, the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aeronautics delivered an updated report on the investigation of the tragic accident of the Satena plane, which occurred on January 28 in the rural area of the municipality of La Playa de Belén, in Norte de Santander.
The Beechcraft aircraft, operated by the Searca company with registration HK4709, disappeared from radar just twelve minutes after taking off from Cúcuta bound for Ocaña.
The incident claimed the lives of the 15 people who were on board, a fact that has generated a deep national commotion due to the profile of the victims.
Among the deceased, the presence of Diógenes Quintero Amaya, member of the House of Representatives and candidate for reelection for the Peace Seats, as well as Carlos Salcedo, who also aspired to a seat for the same movement, was confirmed.

The technical investigation, led by a group of Aerocivil experts, has achieved a crucial step in recent hours: the recovery of the voice and flight data recorders, commonly known as “black boxes”, as well as the locator beacon.
These elements are critical to determining whether the accident was due to mechanical failure, weather factors, or human error.
Álvaro Bello, director of the Accident Investigation Directorate, pointed out that the investigation process is carried out under strict international standards and that the material collected from the aircraft is currently being analyzed.
In addition to the technical components, the authorities have already completed the recovery and delivery of the bodies of the 15 victims to their families.
Civil Aeronautics was emphatic in asking citizens to only pay attention to the official information disseminated through its institutional channels, to avoid speculation about the causes of the accident.
The investigation continues in the phase of detailed analysis of the operational documentation, seeking clear answers about what happened in those fateful twelve minutes of flight over the mountains of Norte de Santander.
