After the night of chaos due to rain and darkness that thousands of citizens experienced in the south of Medellín, the crews of Empresas Públicas de Medellín (EPM) have made important progress in the recovery of the electrical infrastructure.

During the early hours of this Thursday, January 29, technicians worked tirelessly to remove fallen poles and repair networks damaged by the violent downpour, successfully restoring the power flow in the Los Naranjos and Los Balsos sectors.

According to the latest report, around 7:30 am, the energy service remains suspended for 334 clients in the Alto de Las Palmas sector, specifically at the height of the Cola del Zorro.

The main difficulty at this point lies in a palm that collapsed on the high tension ropes and the impossibility of large cranes accessing the terrain due to the instability of the ground, which has forced the displacement of additional personnel to carry out manual repair work.

EPM confirmed that other circuits that cover the areas between El Tesoro and Las Palmas have already been operating completely normally since the early hours of the morning.

Operational normalization work continues under strict supervision of the control center to avoid new interruptions.

The inhabitants of El Poblado who still have specific failures in their transformers or connections are reminded to report the news to the hotline 604 44 44 115 or to the free damage line 01 8000 415 115.

It is expected that before noon the energy will return to the Cola del Zorro sector, once the vegetation that blocks the supply networks is removed and the safety of the crews working in the hillside area is guaranteed.
