The captain of the Colombian Davis Cup team, Alejandro Falla, has officially revealed the squad list for the next series against Morocco, scheduled for the weekend of February 7 and 8.
The national roster will be made up of Nicolás Mejía, Nicolás Barrientos, Adriá Soriano, Miguel Tobón Jr. and the outstanding return of Juan Sebastián Gómez, who will seek promotion in the knockout stage of World Group I.
The confrontation will take place on the clay courts of the Marocaine Sports Club in Casablanca. Colombia arrives at this event occupying 38th place in the world ranking of national teams, while the African team is in 46th place.
Falla highlighted the importance of playing conditions, pointing out: “This is a series that we are going to play at sea level on clay and we hope to move forward and make it the best for us.”

The main surprise in the call is the return of Juan Sebastián Gómez, who returns to the team after demonstrating an excellent level at the end of 2025 with outstanding performances in Ibagué, Valledupar and Bogotá.
His inclusion seeks to strengthen the group that is coming off a tough loss last September against Slovakia in Bratislava (3-1), a result that prevented Colombia from advancing to the Qualifiers and forced it to compete in this qualifying phase.
Currently, the selected tennis players are fulfilling their individual calendars on the professional circuit.
It is expected that in the coming days the technical team led by Falla will join Moroccan territory to begin adapting to the climate and surface, with the aim of ensuring the permanence and prominence of Colombia in the highest competition for nations.
