A movie chase along the roads of Valle del Cauca ended this Tuesday, January 27, with a serious accident and a significant blow to drug trafficking.
A man transporting a gigantic shipment of narcotics lost control of his truck and collided with a tree while trying to escape from the authorities.
The operation, led by the Transit and Transportation Section, allowed the seizure of 744 kilograms of marijuana that had the city of Medellín as its final destination.
The events occurred in the area of the Zeus service station, where uniformed officers gave the vehicle a stop signal.

The driver, far from stopping, accelerated fully and began a desperate escape, which gave way to a controlled follow-up by the patrols. However, the criminal career ended abruptly at the entrance to the Cumba sidewalk, where the subject violently collided with a fixed object.
Despite the impact, the suspect tried to flee on foot through the wooded area, but was intercepted and captured meters later by the police.
When inspecting the crashed ‘narco-van’, the agents found hundreds of packages of different sizes that hid the plant substance. According to preliminary investigations, the shipment had left from Corinto, Cauca, and intended to circumvent road controls to flood the vice plazas of the Antioquia capital.
The captured person, whose cell phone equipment was also seized for intelligence work, must answer for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics.
