Medellín continues to bet on digital transformation and the generation of qualified employment for its citizens.

The Mayor’s Office of Medellín, through the Postsecondary Education Agency (Sapiencia), announced that registration is still open to access one of the 2,500 free places in high-tech courses.

This ambitious initiative is possible thanks to a strategic alliance with the multinational Oracle, which has an initial investment of $5 million dollars to train Medellin residents in the most in-demand skills in the global market.

The call, which is managed from the Digital Citadel @Medellín, offers training in 22 critical areas of the modern economy. Beneficiaries will be able to train in cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, cloud computing, application development and database management.

According to the director of Sapiencia, Salomón Cruz Zirene, the objective is to strengthen local talent under international standards: “It is an opportunity to promote entrepreneurship and continue positioning the city as a reference in science, technology and innovation”stated the official.

The program is developed in a 100% virtual modality through the Oracle MyLearn platform, which allows students to advance at their own pace.

One of the biggest attractions of this offer is that, at the end of the process, participants will be able to take exams to obtain industry certifications with global recognition.

These credentials, issued by Oracle University, function as a seal of guarantee on resumes, facilitating the connection of local talents with vacancies in multinational companies that require high-level technical mastery.

Those interested in transforming their professional profile and entering the world of technology can consult the minimum requirements and register at no cost through the official portal here.

With this deployment, the mayor’s office seeks to close the digital gap in the communes and townships, ensuring that quality technical education is a tool of real progress for all strata of the city.
