What promised to be a Sunday day of sports and recreation was about to end in tragedy.
This Sunday, January 25, a large fuse balloon fell on one of the playing fields of the Polideportivo Sur sports unit in Envigado, just at the time when a children’s soccer match was being played.
The incident occurred before the astonished gaze of dozens of children and parents. According to witnesses, the balloon descended quickly and hit the playing field, starting a fire immediately upon contact with the surface.
Anguish took over those present, who had to evacuate the playing area in a hurry to avoid contact with the fire and flammable material.

Fortunately, the quick reaction of those at the scene made it possible to control the situation before the flames spread to other areas of the complex.
Official reports confirm that there were no injuries or people affected by smoke inhalation.
However, the synthetic grass of the sports arena suffered considerable damage in the impact area, leaving a burned area that will require repairs.
This fact once again puts on the table the danger that these devices represent.
What began as a dangerous tradition ended up affecting a space dedicated to the healthy recreation of minors, who experienced a strong scare in the middle of their sports competition.
