Minute30.com .- What seemed like a wound that had been overcome ended in tragedy. In the last few hours, the death of a 28-year-old young man was known, who was the victim of an attack with a knife last Tuesday, January 20, in the San Benito sector, in the heart of Medellín.
Despite having received initial medical attention, complications resulting from the injury ended his life days later in a healthcare center in the northwest of the city.
The victim’s medical journey
It was learned that the young man left his house on the afternoon of January 19 without warning where; At 04:00 am on January 20, his relatives were informed that he had been taken to the General Hospital after being wounded with a knife on De Greiff Avenue.
That same Tuesday, after the cures, the patient was discharged and returned home.
On Thursday, January 22, he relapsed; Given the deterioration of his health and the severity of the injury, his family rushed him to an Intermediate Unit in the northwest of Medellín.
Due to the complexity of his clinical condition, he was referred to another more complex hospital, where he unfortunately died in the early hours of Sunday, January 25.
Key clue: The victim identified her attacker
A fundamental detail in the investigation, known to Minuto30, is that before his health condition worsened, the 28-year-old man managed to tell his family the identity of the person who injured him.
This statement from the victim is now the central axis to find the capture of the alleged aggressor.
For now, the manner of death was recorded as “to be established” while Forensic Medicine determines if the death was a direct result of the stab wound or if there were any complications in the initial treatment. The technical inspection of the body was carried out at the hospital in the northwest of Medellín by criminalistics units.
