The depressed passage on 100th Street and Suba Avenue, belonging to group 8 of the 68th Avenue trunk, reaches 66% progress, according to the latest inspection by the Urban Development Institute (IDU). This structure, designed exclusively for the TransMilenio system, will allow bidirectional connection from north to east and unidirectional from north to south, improving fluidity in one of the busiest corridors in Bogotá.

Among the works carried out are the demolition of the existing asphalt layer, the construction of crown beams—located in the upper part of the structure and essential for joining and stabilizing the reinforced concrete screens—and the installation of tension beams, which reinforce the structure and prevent displacement during the work. Likewise, work is being done on reinforced concrete screens, generally buried walls that provide resistance and stability to the structure.

Group 8 of Avenida 68 includes the section between Carrera 65 and Carrera 48, with an extension of 1.06 kilometers. In this corridor, 25,484 m² of public space, 4,585 m² of green areas and 1.15 kilometers of cycle path are being built, integrating infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists along with the road works.

Since June 2025, the new bridge on Suba Avenue and 100th Street has been operating as a temporary road, allowing the simultaneous transit of TransMilenio buses and mixed vehicles in the south-north direction, while work on the depressed crossing continues. This measure guarantees connectivity during construction and facilitates user access to the trunk.

Currently, more than 200 workers participate in the excavation, installation of networks and finishing of public spaces, including the northeast corner of Suba Avenue with 100th Street and the central area of the corridor. The tasks are carried out at depths of 4 to 8 meters, and include the preparation of the structure to support TransMilenio transit once the work is completed.

The project is part of the efforts to improve mobility in the city, consolidating an exclusive corridor for mass transportation and complementing the infrastructure with public spaces, green areas and cycle paths that facilitate connectivity and the safe movement of pedestrians and cyclists.
