National sport is dressed in mourning after confirming the death of Ciro Solano Portacio, father of the current president of the Colombian Olympic Committee (COC), Ciro Solano Hurtado.

The Executive Committee of the institution was the first to speak out, sending a heartfelt message of condolences and solidarity to its president in the face of this irreparable family loss, uniting the Olympic community in a moment of deep regret.

The Major Division of Colombian Football (DIMAYOR), led by its president Fernando Jaramillo Giraldo, joined the voices of mourning, along with the 36 affiliated clubs in the country.

Through an official statement, the governing body of professional football expressed its deepest condolences to Dr. Solano Hurtado, highlighting the respect and closeness that unites the different sports organizations in the country in situations of this nature.

Finally, DIMAYOR extended a special message of strength to Luis Solano, son of the deceased and who works as Media and Marketing Officer of the entity in Montería.
