Two men were captured in flagrante delicto in the town of Kennedy, southwest of Bogotá, during a control operation carried out by the Police in the Llano Grande neighborhood. The subjects are accused of being involved in theft from commercial establishments and in activities related to drug trafficking.

According to the authorities’ report, the arrest occurred after the uniformed officers noticed a nervous and evasive attitude on the part of the two men, which led to a search procedure. During the inspection, a revolver-type firearm, various ammunition and approximately 500 grams of narcotic substances were found.

After the capture, the authorities established that the detainees, of foreign nationality, were allegedly part of a criminal group dedicated to the sale of drugs and the theft of commercial establishments in different sectors of the city. According to preliminary investigations, they would be related to the robbery of a hardware store that occurred on January 16, 2026 in the Caldas sector.

Those captured must answer for the crimes of trafficking, manufacturing or carrying firearms, as well as trafficking, manufacturing or carrying narcotics. Both the detainees and the weapon, ammunition and seized drugs were left at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office for their respective prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Police continue with the investigative work to identify and capture other alleged members of the criminal structure, which apparently operated in groups of up to ten people and was dedicated to the systematic robbery of commercial premises.

For its part, the Ministry of Security reiterated the call to citizens to report any criminal act or relevant information through line 123, in order to strengthen actions against crime in the capital.
