Minute30.com .- A serious act of violence was recorded in the last few hours in the central area of ​​Medellín, on Calle 57 Sur and Carrera 51, Prado Centro sector. A 21-year-old young man, originally from Apartadó, was seriously injured after being attacked with a sharp weapon in the middle of the street.

Thanks to the rapid intervention of the Police, the alleged aggressor was captured a few blocks from the scene while trying to flee.

Ambush on the street

According to the story of the victim’s companion, both were walking calmly through the area when they were surprised from behind.

An Afro-Colombian man, with a thin build, came out unexpectedly and, without saying a word, attacked the 21-year-old young man, stabbing him several times.

After the attack, the aggressor fled, while the victim’s relative looked for help.

The injured young man was immediately helped and transferred to a clinic in the center of Medellín, where he receives specialized medical care under a reserved prognosis.

After being alerted by the attack, authorities activated a blockade plan in the sector. The effectiveness of the Police allowed them to find the whereabouts of a man who matched the description.

At the time of capture, the suspect was wearing clothing still covered in blood, evidence that will be essential for the prosecution process for the crime of attempted homicide.

The motives for the attack are being investigated, since, according to the companion, there was no previous fight or attempted robbery, which suggests a possible direct attack or confusion.

The captured person was placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office to answer for his actions.
