An extensive advance control operation in the town of Bosa, south of Bogotá, allowed the authorities to seize adulterated and contraband liquor, in addition to suspending the commercial activity of several establishments that did not comply with current regulations.
The intervention was concentrated in the San Bernardino Potreritos sector, where units of the Bogotá Metropolitan Police, in coordination with the District Secretariat of Security, Coexistence and Justice, deployed inspection, surveillance and control actions for nearly eight hours.
The procedure was activated after detecting unusual behavior by the administrator of a bar located on the second floor. Upon noticing the presence of the uniformed officers, the man left the place arguing that he had to carry out a quick errand and returned minutes later, a situation that led to a thorough review of the establishment.
During the inspection, the authorities verified one by one the bottles of alcoholic beverages arranged for sale, finding irregularities in security seals, lids and tax stamps. In several cases, the brands and registrations did not match the presentation of the containers, which showed tampering with the product. National beers whose expiration date had expired more than three months ago were also found.

In parallel, other teams carried out controls in bars located on the first floor of the same building. In one of them, adulterated liquor and technical contraband were detected, corresponding to alcoholic beverages coming from other regions of the country that did not have the stamp required for their commercialization in Bogotá. Even bottles with lower capacity stamps were found that did not match the actual volume of the container.

As a result of these actions, 36 bottles of adulterated whiskey, brandy, rum and vodka or without the corresponding tax documentation were seized in two establishments. Both locations were temporarily suspended.
The mega-occupation also led to the closure of two other bars in the sector, where the authorities found knives and doses of narcotics, which motivated the immediate application of administrative measures.

Additionally, the operation included searches of people, background checks and controls in road corridors and parks in the sector, in order to prevent crimes such as theft, fights and homicides.
The Ministry of Security reiterated that this type of operations will continue to be carried out throughout 2026 in different locations in the city, as part of the strategy to reduce crime and protect the health and safety of citizens. Likewise, a call was made to the community to report any suspicious or illegal activity through the 123 emergency line.
