The Colombian Olympic Committee officially confirmed the election of skier Fredrik Fodstad as the national representative for the cross-country skiing events at the next Milan-Cortina 2026 Winter Olympic Games.

Thanks to his consistency on the international circuit and the points obtained in the International Ski Federation (FIS) rankings, Fodstad secured the men’s numerical quota assigned to the country.

The athlete is consolidated as Colombia’s strong suit in snow endurance disciplines.

Fodstad’s participation in Italian territory will mark the third consecutive edition in which Colombia has a presence in the winter fairs.

The athlete plans to compete in a demanding calendar that includes the 30 km Skiathlon, 10 km Distance and Sprint events.

In addition, the technical team is evaluating the possibility of confirming its participation in the 50 km marathon in the coming weeks, one of the most physically demanding events in the Olympic program.

The cross-country skiing competitions will take place at the Tesero Cross-Country Ski Stadium, located in the Val di Fiemme region.

This venue is recognized for its technical complexity, offering circuits that range between 1.1 and 5 kilometers, with a total track length of 8.3 kilometers.
