The murder of David Nocua, which occurred on May 8, 2025 in the south of Bogotá, continues to leave deep wounds in his family.
Recently, it was learned that one of the teenagers involved had escaped from the detention center where she remained in custody of the criminal responsibility system for minors.
David Nocua, 14 years old, was tricked by other teenagers and taken to a wooded area in the José Sucre neighborhood, in the town of Usme, where he was attacked with a sharp weapon, causing his death. David had been reported missing hours before, after leaving his home, without his family imagining the tragic outcome.

The recent information about the alleged escape revived the anguish of the relatives, who claim to feel unprotected by a system that, according to them, has not guaranteed justice or security after the crime.

Juliana Monroy, mother of the murdered minor, questioned in local media the surveillance and control in juvenile detention centers, stating that the system “failed” to protect the community and the victim’s own family.
The authorities have not officially commented on the exact circumstances of the alleged escape, while the family demands answers, security guarantees and concrete actions to prevent the crime from being forgotten.
