What seemed to be a tragic traffic accident in the northwest of Bogotá has taken a turn. The authorities confirmed this Monday, January 19, that the subject who survived the brutal crash on 68th Avenue, where three people lost their lives, tried to mock justice by providing a false name.
The individual, who initially identified himself as Roberto, turned out to be José, a criminal with a record that makes your hair stand on end.
Avenida 68 became the scene of a movie chase after José and an accomplice (who died at the scene) assaulted the driver of a high-end truck with a firearm.
In the desperate escape through the 72nd Street sector, the criminals ended up causing the accident that claimed the lives of an elderly couple: Santiago Rodríguez, 67, and Clara Lucía, 68.
Thanks to a fingerprint match and the review of specific tattoos, forensic experts managed to unmask the suspect at the hospital.

Camargo Galvis’s record is extensive and includes current convictions for illegal possession of weapons and drug trafficking, in addition to an arrest warrant issued in Meta.
During the inspection of the scene, the Police managed to recover a million-dollar loot that included a Diesel watch, 18-karat gold chains and rings with diamonds and emeralds, valued at more than 30 million pesos.
Currently, the accused remains in custody in a medical center, where the Forensic Medicine report indicates that he suffered paraplegia as a result of the strong impact that he himself caused while trying to escape with what was stolen.
