Four men were captured by the Bogotá Metropolitan Police after carrying out a violent attack against a tow truck of the District Mobility Secretariat (SDM) during a control operation on informal transportation in the town of Bosa, southwest of the capital.
According to the authorities, the events occurred in the Brasilia sector, when the official vehicle was immobilizing a car that was providing informal transportation service. At that moment, several people intervened aggressively with the aim of preventing the tow truck from taking away the vehicle.
During the altercation, the officials and tow truck operators were attacked with blunt objects, while some of the attackers took advantage of the confusion to steal electronic elements belonging to the District, which were part of the operating equipment of the official vehicle.

The situation was promptly reported by the community to the surveillance patrols that were conducting tours of the area. Upon arriving at the scene, the uniformed officers were approached by the victims, who recounted the acts of violence and the theft of which they had just been subjected.
They intended to remove an immobilized vehicle from a tow truck.
These subjects got out of a van in Bosa, stopped the tow truck, attacked officials and stole elements from the vehicle; but in minutes, in a chase @PoliciaBogotawere captured.

Upon noticing the police presence, the alleged perpetrators tried to flee the scene; However, the immediate reaction of the agents allowed them to intercept and capture four men who would be involved in the events. During the procedure, one of the detainees was found in possession of one of the electronic elements that had been stolen minutes before.
Those captured, along with the recovered material, were placed at the disposal of the Attorney General’s Office, where they must answer for the crimes of theft, personal injury and assault on a public servant.
The authorities reiterated the call to citizens to report any fact that affects coexistence or constitutes a crime, through Emergency Line 123, highlighting that reporting is essential to strengthen judicial processes and the fight against crime in the city.
