A guarantee control judge endorsed the prosecution of Ronald Paz, accused of participating in a violent robbery against a married couple that occurred in eastern Cali, Valle del Cauca. The process was carried out by the Attorney General’s Office, which charged him with the crime of qualified and aggravated theft.

According to the investigation, the events occurred on July 19, 2025 in the Alfonso López neighborhood, when two men traveling on motorcycles intercepted a couple and, through intimidation with a firearm, stripped them of several belongings. Among the stolen items were jewelry and cash, with an estimated value of more than three million pesos.

The authorities also established that during the assault one of the victims was physically attacked, which increased the seriousness of the case. Based on the work of the judicial police, the Prosecutor’s Office managed to identify Ronald Paz as one of the alleged perpetrators of the attack.

By decision of the judge, Ronald was sent to a prison while the process against him progresses, as a preventive measure to guarantee his appearance before justice.

Due to these same events, last December Leider Lozada had already been prosecuted and deprived of his liberty, who faces charges of qualified and aggravated theft, as well as manufacturing, trafficking, carrying or possession of firearms, accessories, parts or ammunition.

The Prosecutor’s Office continues with the investigative process to fully clarify the circumstances of the case and determine if there are more people involved in the assault.
